LD4D Network

Transforming livestock systems through collaborative data, solutions, and insights

SEBI Livestock acts as the Secretariat for the Livestock Data for Decisions Network (LD4D). Established  in 2017 as 30-person community of practice, LD4D has since evolved into a global network of over 2500 livestock experts working worldwide. LD4D members share knowledge and co-create solutions to pressing challenges in the sector. The aim is to support more sustainable and inclusive livestock systems through better data and evidence.

LD4D supports sustainable and inclusive livestock systems by leveraging data and evidence to inform policies, investments, and strategies. 

Recognizing the vital role women play in livestock production, LD4D places a strong emphasis on gender equality, addressing the unique challenges faced by them.

Working together

LD4D offers many ways for members to work together and achieve impact including dedicated communities of practice, Solutions Groups, expert consultations and crowdsourcing of innovations. Through these collaboration mechanisms members generate tangible outputs such as reports, briefs, data-sharing frameworks and tools that can be adopted and replicated across countries and organisations. The network also organises in person and online events where members can share knowledge, showcase their work and build new connections.

Membership in the LD4D Network is free and open to both individuals and organisations interested in strengthening livestock data and evidence for decision-making.
